Trans-Tribal & Cultural Missions
Trans-Tribal Missions operates under the assumption that someone who fits in, who understands the culture and beliefs, is going
to be the most effective. Therefore, one hundred percent of the leaders within Trans- Tribal Missions are Kenyans who work with the following tribes within Kenya: Boni, Malakote, Orma, Pokomo, Swahili-Bajun,
and Wadha among others. Cross- Cultural Missions is also committed to meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of
the Somali people group. |

Church Planting & Community Development
BARNABAS MINISTRIES Africa is also involved in supporting church planting efforts of various denominations. During 2007, over 30 new churches were planted by ex-students of the BARNABAS BIBLE & MISSIONS TRAINING INSTITUTE at Hewani, Tana River. |
Pastoral Support
BARNABAS MINISTRIES Africa is committed to meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of Kenyan church leadership, as well as the people groups whom they serve. BMA pastoral-leadership support includes the following:
Leadership Fellowship: Leader Fellowship provides opportunities for both seasoned and inexperienced leaders to come together for prayer, fellowship, sharing, and equipping.
School of Ministries: School of Ministries brings together Kenyan leaders and workers who are unable to attend Bible School to receive formal training in leadership, theology, pastoral care, and counselling.
Women in Ministry: Women in Ministry encourage and assist Christian women to reach their full potential in gifting and ability. Women currently comprise one third of BMA’s leaders.
Water projects & Sustainable Development
Kenya faces severe water constraints and chronic drought patterns. It is the main goal of BMA, through the strategic placement of boreholes and hand pumps, to help alleviate the water shortage and provide access to clean drinking water, with a long-term goal of using these water sources for drip irrigation and agricultural development projects.
Humanitarian Relief
During the course of its history, New Life Home Trust and BARNABAS MINISTRIES Africa have sought to be available to give humanitarian relief to victims affected by various crisis and catastrophes. In 1998, El-Nino floods affected the Tana River region and the tribal clashes of 2002-03. The famine of 2006 also affected this arid area, but BMA and NLHT were able to respond by feeding 1,000 people every day for six months.
More recently, the post election disturbances of 2007-08 have brought privation to thousands of people. Through international donations, BMA and NLHT have been on the cutting edge to hope to thousands.
