ABOUT Nakuru
New Life Home Trust – Nakuru is situated in Milimani area of Nakuru town, set in the heart of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley between the cities of Nairobi and Kisumu. This town, on the shores of the Lake Nakuru and alongside its national park that has been made famous by its bird spectacular, especially the flamingos, is throbbing with life.
Against such a background is the plight of children who are innocent victims of the HIV/AIDS scourge. These children, infected and affected by this pandemic, are often neglected, malnourished and even thrown away and at times orphaned, leaving them in the care of elderly grand parents amid poverty and other overwhelming socio-economic problems. NEW LIFE HOME TRUST has risen in response to this problem by bringing hope through the establishing of this and other satellites homes across Kenya.
The children, admitted from age 0 – 6 months, are nurtured in a loving environment and given the best care possible. At an opportune time, they are discharged into families for foster care and adoption. The home is envisaged that it shall become one of three main ‘receiving points’ for the TRUST’S network of satellite homes as it is situated on a large plot to allow further development.
By providing this safe, stable and loving environment, we hope to reduce the vulnerability of orphaned and abandoned children as well as those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The home requires continued support from well-wishers in all areas. Both the local and international community can join us in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
